About Blythe

After many years in public relations, advertising, and marketing, Blythe Gifford started writing seriously after a corporate layoff. Ten years and one layoff later, she became an overnight success when she sold her Romance Writers of America Golden Heart finalist manuscript to Harlequin.

She has since written medieval romances featuring characters born on the wrong side of the royal blanket, a series set on the turbulent Scottish Borders of the Tudor era, and medieval romances centering around authentic royal weddings. She also self-published a romance set amidst the hysterical atmosphere of the Scottish witch hunts. Look for her next release in 2020, a Christmas novella set in Tudor England, and yes, another royal wedding story!

The Chicago Tribune has called her work “the perfect balance between history and romance.” Her books have finalled in the Readers Crown, More than Magic, Aspen Gold, Beacon, and Lories contests. THE WITCH FINDER was named February 2015 Book of the Month by The Review website.

Her books have been published in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada,  the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Latin America, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

She lives and works along Chicago’s lakefront and juggles writing with a consulting career and traveling.
